OPC UA Pub/Sub is the OPC extension for real-time communication between controllers.

OPC UA Pub/Sub is the solution for highly efficient, high-performance and manufacturer-independent standardized control-to-control communication. Other use cases include communication between a ctrlX CORE and MES or data acquisition systems.

The OPC UA Pub/Sub App publishes data from the ctrlX CORE real-time data layer and writes data that is subscribed to via subscription to the real-time data layer. Communication is possible between ctrlX CORE controllers, but also between ctrlX CORE and controllers from other manufacturers that support OPC UA Pub/Sub.

An OPC UA Server and the UaExpert software tool are required to configure OPC UA Pub/Sub communication.
